South shore surf camp In partners with The Courtney Norbury Scholarship fund Is proud to announce we will be offering a one week surf camp session (June 25-29) to a child from Hull who has suffered a life changing trauma. This can come in many ways, such as, the loss of a parent or sibling, a parent called to duty, a serious illness or even a great financial loss.
We need your help! Please help us find a child who has suffered this type of trauma. Kyle will be accepting emails (kshaw@southshoresurfcamp.com) from families and together we will choose one child to attend the first session of camp (June25-29).
Courtney was an avid surfer. He often traveled to California for the weekend to surf Huntington Beach. He also loved to surf Nantasket Beach, even in the dark. He had his son on a surfboard as early as two years old. This is our way of keeping his memory alive.
In addition to a week of camp, the Courtney Norbury Fund will provide its applicant with a brand new surfboard on the last day of camp. We welcome any suggestions for fund raising towards the board and anyone willing to volunteer will always be appreciated.
The fund will be open for donations at the Hingham Institute for savings. It is our hope to give a child one week to forget their hurt, learn a great new sport, and realize what a great community we have here in Hull.
Please submit your nominee along with a paragraph as to why you feel they would be ideal for this opportunity.
Thank you,
Lynn Norbury
