Ronnie Lees is a back-country skier, mountain climber, surfer, and surf instructor, and some have called him a philosopher, with his spiritual words from beyond the break of life.

He was born on the North Shore of Massachusetts in the 1970′s and displayed an early interest in writing, and extreme mountain and ocean sports. He has spent many years surfing and skiing all over the world.He is one of the owners of Northeast Surfing, and has enjoyed writing and film making for years, and is currently a published author of a few novels and screenplays.

Johnny McInerney (Johnny Mac) -Surfer, Windsurfer, skier, and Snowboarder. He is one of the owners of Northeast Surfing. From Surfing to windsurfing, to snow sports, images, and videos. Johnny Mac has surfed, windsurfed, and snowboarded all over the world, from Hawaii to Costa Rica, and more. He is known for his extreme surfing, and windsurfing videos online that host thousands of visitors a day.

Ydana Chella- Surfer, Surf Instructor. Working as a surf instructor for Northeast Surfing has allowed me to combine my two best talents, teaching and surfing. I have been teaching third grade for the past 15 years. Being a teacher affo rds me the unique opportunity to teach and surf abroad. I have taught and surfed in Bali, Indonesia, Costa Rica and Ireland. Each destination has offered world class surf, and have allowed me to experience some of my most memorable and gratifying teaching moments.

I started surfing in Hawaii on the island of Maui. From that moment I was hooked. Shortly after, I moved to San Diego, and surfed up and down the California coast My primary concerns as a surf instructor are simple. First, I want the children to leave their lesson feeling like they surfed to their fullest potential. This does not mean standing on the first wave and getting every wave thereafter. It is about surfing to the best of one’s ability. Second, safety is of paramount importance. All surfers will fall, beginner or expert. The important part is to get right back on the board and try again.

Jackie Fornaro Surfer, Surf Instructor, has been surfing for years. A Cohasset, MA resident, she surfs Nantasket Beach whenever the opportunity arises.Jackie loves combining her passion for travel and surf and has surfed in California, Brazil, Costa Rica, Bali and Puerto Rico, among other destinations. Jackie is stoked to bring her passion for surfing (and her brightly colored sunscreen) to the Northeast Surfing team!

 

Rose Huston- Surfer, Snowboarder, Surf instructor. She’s always doing something active, whether it’s in the water or out. Surfing, paddleboarding, riding bmx, rock climbing, running, cruising on her longboard skateboard, or exploring everywhere she goes. She has been in love with surfing since the first wave ever caught on a cross-country road trip to California.

She has surfed up and down the East Coast, California, and Costa Rica, with aspirations of traveling to many more surf destinations. Rose is excited to be able to share her passion for surfing with you this summer at Nantasket!
